I draw my inspiration From the back of my mind. I don’t pull ideas out of the ground, Like a gardener uprooting weeds, Or a child digging for worms. I don’t look to plants to spark my creativity, Or songbirds to help me think of lyrics of my own. Sitting by the ocean doesn’t make me produce relaxing poems, Or awe inspiring paintings. I just end up sitting for hours with the wind blowing sand in my paint, then going home with a sunburn. I have plenty of ideas flitting around in my head That are waiting to be caught. Using whatever means necessary, Be it butterfly net, fishing pole, or bear trap. Some harder to catch than others. And if every Animal Tree And flower Has a story to tell Then they can go tell it to Snow White. Although she would probably understand, I doubt she would care much either.
