We both remember carving our names into a tree with a Batman key We remember smoking a cigarette by the lake We remember falling asleep in each others arms We remember drawing her favorite couple in complaining it looked bad I remember falling asleep alone I remember falling in love with your uncontained beauty at my doorstep in the spring I remember heart aching agony, wishing your muddy boots that make you taller than me would appear in my silver tears I remember dreams, waking up with the taste of honey lingering on my tongue I remember hour long phone calls, because I threatened to swallow a handful of multicolored pills, found from my empty pantry I remember your tear stains on my favorite sweater I remember ink on thin folded trees, pressed into my palm with your name signed at the bottom You remember my name
