I don’t have to look for you
I find you always lingering
In the sometimes virtual,
Sometimes physical gaps in between
My fingers, these words, and I know how—
There’s no such thing as looking away
For a Thursday night brought me a breath
That I never thought of
Until it came ablaze
And landed inside my mouth
With a fog so peculiar it made its way
Down my salmon tongue
It went travelling
Wanting to meet my soul halfway
So I let it wander
Aboard a perpetual spectrum
Of remarkable finding
With a byproduct of a different me
I will no longer be who I used to be
My eyes could either be open or closed
It makes no difference
I see you just the same
