What would you do
if it happened today
If the moon turned to blue
and the sun turned away
When the oceans are black
and the islands are red
And the clocks won’t turn back
and everyone’s dead
What would you do?
What would you do?
What could you do?

Where do you run
when there’s no place
to hide
When the heat of the sun
starts to burn you inside
When a walk down the street
is a feat in itself
When the back of your seat
takes a crack at your health
Where do you run?
Where can you run?

Well, if I had the answers
I wouldn’t ask
I know it’s a lot,
it’s a hell of a task
But there’s got to be a
reason for you wearing
a mask
So you’ve got be the man
with the golden flask
It must be you.
It must be you.

Some stop and look
and some turn away
And some read the same book
day after day
Some are restricted
and some of them free
But all are inflicted
by you and by me
Now we all live
with a dust laden sky
And every river is
yellow and dry
Flowers crumble
they don’t grow any more
We just mumble
and don’t know the
score

But if the flame goes
out on Kennedy’s grave
We’ve still got the minds of the children
to save
Forget about the ways of
all the roads that
we paved
It’s better to be
stupid than it is to
be brave
