You sure had a way with the flowers
You knew how to make them grow
You said it's in the care that you give
And in all the love you show

You would often talk to the roses
And sing to the morning glories
You gave them water to quench their thirst
And sometimes, you read them stories

We buried you in an empty grave
Where flowers never grow
But when we laid you in the ground
You became the flower's soul

The roses sprang toward the sky
Inspired by all your love
As if to thank the Father
In the Heavens up above

You sure had a way with the flowers
And though you had to go
Your love will live forever
Where the flowers never grow
