The mind goes round and round
It chases rabbit trails
Will sleep come?
Will she even rest?
She never knows what to expect.
She longs for sleep
But her mind chooses otherwise
There are burdens on her heart
There are worries in her mind
Things she must think through
Decisions that demand her attention
Will she ever get a moment’s peace?
Will she ever rest?
She has to learn that the decision is hers.
She can sleep or worry.
Sit and wonder or let sleep overtake her body
She knows what she wants
But to make that decision
To quiet the mind
To forget the worries
It’s almost unthinkable
But her mind is her own
It’s under her control
Either she controls it or it controls her
She must choose.
Worries or sleep
Control the mind or let it control her
She must decide
She might realize indecision can equal decision
