My morning lips
kissed the mug,
the lover waiting second.

The coffee
pierced my throat
and shot my eyes
to euphoria.

Alcohol can blind you,
and tea may bind you,
but coffee will love you.

The coffee's warmth
could not seal
the wound which
would be severed.

One day
I woke to no coffee.
That day was the end.

A coffee house
is where the mind
begins to
sleep.

because, finally then
I felt.
