Darkness. You do not fear me
Regardless of the time that I denied you
I never saw you until I awoke from a slumber sweet and deep

You jolted me at first
With barbed tendrils lashing out to hurt me
And I did cower wishing it all untrue again

But now I stand, I'll face you down
Before I let you try to defeat me
I am not ashamed
I am not afraid
This pain is healing me from the wound you once gave me
Soon it will be gone, as will you

Darkness. I thank you
For this opportunity to shed a light on my history
For without you - how could there be light?
What you are - I am not
My heart bursts with joy at that simple Truth

Darkness. You tried to creep in on me
Steal me from the joy that is rightfully mine
But I saw you coming
And though I did run, I grew tired and weary
Now I turn to face you down

Darkness. It is true your form is twisted
Ugly to it's core
But that is your nature to be so
I will not be consumed by your sorrows no more
For I am Light
Always was
Always will be
For what you are
I am not
And this is what sets me free

I AM LIGHT - NO SHADOW CAN CAST ITS DARKNESS UPON ME!
