Mirages and Vanities

These vanities of mine

how deep they run

like still waters

at mid sea

wave-less

un-rippled…

…imitating the

twilight beams

bouncing

up and down

my flesh

reducing me at times

to a mere verse

I was an island-

You used to say

Ah!now I’ve

morphed into a mirage

Care to leave

your footprints there ?
