What does it feel like to race the wind? Or to dance in the warm spring rain? How did it feel the first time you smiled? Or you wake on your sheets, with a stain?
How did it feel the first time you cried? The tears streaming down your face Or the first time you lost at anything, As you hung your head in disgrace?
How did it feel the first time you lied? Or the first time you told the truth How did it feel to sleep in the dark? Or to pull your very first tooth
How did it feel to get your first kiss, And wonder why your palms were sweaty? How did it feel when a loved one died, Somehow before you were ready?
How did it feel when you found heartache? With your heart so broken and torn This is just life, so take it or leave it But it's how a poem is born
