smothering impulses

covering the beginnings

of what could

be.

you cannot peel off

the past

like dried glue from a

kid’s arm.

the ever oncoming

moment

absorbs your

resistence

like sidewalk taking in summer

heat.

all that is,

is now

and your

persistent mediocrity

will take you no further

than your white tunnel

sight can see.
