The Ghost On the Other Side of the Bed

The ghost on the other side of the bed Is thin in bones And thick with need He Is tired and reaches a hand out To touch me He Is years in the future While I'm tucked into the past He Fingers the duvet between us And offers a smile He Searches inside my eyes For secrets I want him to find The ghost on the other side of the bed Disappears And I crash into sleep
