I must go back to the dream, to peaceful slumber and the calm, And all i long for is rest from these chaotic times; And the silence of thought and the warmth of the covers embrace, And the touch of memories and the life never lived.
I must go back to the dream, to hear the lonely calls Be answered by thought and see the life never lived play through; And all I ask is for one dim day hidden by dreams above, And the company of imaginings singing their merry tune.
I must go back to the dream, to taste the ire of nightmares gone, To feel the warmth of dreams beginnings and the doorway from certainty; And all I ask is the place to rest my head from the day’s journeys And a quite sleep and a sweet dream when the long days over.
