Good Morning

"I've been awake for a while now"

She said, smiling

"I just couldn't leave bed without you"

His eyes softened

He brushed the hair out of her face

But his touch lingered

Worked his way down

To the small of her back

He smiled now, too

"How can I blame you?"

So he pulled her in close

For one last moment

Of morning snuggle warmth
