A Sweet Conversation

Good morning, my darling! (Good day) You’ve slept the whole night through my love (You slept o’er half the day) I made you hot cakes and cream, my dear. (I found poison in your tea) Look at the sunshine, my darling dear! (I smell a storm today) Oh what outings we ought to have! (I’d rather live alone) Chocolates for lunch and sugarplum pies! (I’d sooner swallow a toad) We’d watch the sunset in your arms my love. (You kill me softly, my dear.)
