don’t forgive me,
I didn’t ask for
that,
and don’t hate me,
because I didn’t ask
for that
either

the broken glass
is scattered every-
where

and we hop like
we know what
we’re doing

the gashes in our feet
are minor, to the pain
of showing it hurts
