Edge Of Reason

He felt solace in the soft hand that pressed against his. The passion and glimpse of reason that resonated in chaotic eyes. He found it hard to believe it was all lies. The lightning lit up the sky once more showing the grotesque trees. Misshapen and wicked they seemed to mock his hollowness. He found it hard to believe he wasn’t alone. From the light and edge of the forest the smile greeted him but yet his steps slowed until they little more then stood in the dirt. He found it hard to believe these new words. He stepped back feeling just as fearful heading towards chaos as he did towards love but something was hollow in its words. He found it hard to believe he would return. He found himself in the darkness and walked towards the light with it only to find it had remained, like the details of a dream. He found it too hard to leave himself behind
