This takes me back
Back to years
When I was wanted

When I was driven
Expectations daunted.

The trickledown theory of love
You may never get more
Than the person above

Asked to cross a bridge
Never constructed or built
Stretching with miles and miles of guilt

Switching each memory back
Clutching each thought
Remembering each act

This takes me back
Back to years
When I was wanted

When I was driven
Expectations daunted.

Now I live here
In stained judgment
Amazed at the emancipation
Of a withered reputation
