An exhilarated cry in my ear
With your head tossed back
And your hair falling away from your eyes
A soft, teasing snicker in the room
While I smile and shake my head
At your stupid little antics
A laugh. Your laugh.
It flows from your mouth
Like the wind weaving through the trees
I hear it every other day now,
Your laugh.
I'm glad to know that you still find me funny
After all the time we were apart
While you were gone
I'd missed the sound of
Your laugh.
It no longer symbolizes the pain I felt
When you had gone away
And now that you're back
I hope you'll never leave again
Your laugh.
Is all I want to hear
I'm pushing aside the memories
Regaining hope
Reconnecting with you
While you just laugh with me.
