A Smile and A Tear

I look to the heavens above

As I smile and shed a tear.

A spirit travels to thy father's love

From a life that has been lost so near.

Losing you has always been a fear for me

Reminiscing the life we once shared.

You left our side so calmly

I never thought I would be prepared.

I'll never forget what you told me

That you would always care.

And you'll always watch over me

So I should never be scared.

I share a smile with you today

Knowing I will see you again

No tears or sadness will come my way

So I bow my head and say Amen.
