Oh, I am undone
how the universe falls apart
You once spoke to Me
So happily
and so lovingly
what ill wind
has changed Your heart
You once swore we would
never part
I weep
as My soul weeps
once My soul was filled with music
a symphony of love
composed just for You
all nature seems to weep
as I set here on this cold bench
in this for that chills Me
to My bones
no more light and gay music
no more Your sweet kiss
or Your sweet breath
oh, let death take Me away
if I cannot reside in Your
warm and lovely arms
then let death hold Me
in his boney hands
and I will ride with him
on a chariot to the underworld
when we met
You were so warm
and so loving
but as time went by
the blood in Your veins grew cold
a dark spirit possessed You
and a dark shadow seemed
to pass in front of Your face
Oh, Your eyes grew dark and cold
in the breath that was so warm
there is now a frosty chill
and I am sick in My soul
You passed from the light
to shadow
there was once not a living thing
You did not love
and now your every word
is I, and I and I
Oh, dig My grave
and dig it deep
Oh, I see that the universe
has no soul
it is only a mechanical thing
a great watch ticking off the time
and nothing more.
