Have you ever seen
A *** in the trash?
Searching for food
And to put some clothes on his ***?
That's how I feel at times.
Not in the sense of homelessness
But deep within my mind.
I've wasted too much time
Coasting through life
As if things were alright
And they would just find their way
To the light.
That's something I know wasn't right.

And now I know that
I've wasted too much daylight.
I've wasted too much time
Lost inside my mind.
Over time things have dried.
Something's have even died
And now I'm left with what I've become
Over time.
All I can think of
Was that a mind
Is a terrible things to waste.

Procrastination possesses my soul
Like the cold
When I've been accustomed to the heat.
The feeling makes me a bit bold
To take a break
From what keeps me up at night.
Just to get a little sleep
And get further away
From what I see in my dreams
When I open my eyes.
Many schemes, many strategies
Go to waste and I give in
To the weak part of my mind.
I hit the snooze for the sixth time this morning
As I leap from my resting place
In the present time of my life.
Half asleep, looking back on
Where I've been.
******* because I am
Not where I should be.
Too many times
I've given into me

And now I know that
I've wasted too much daylight.
I've wasted too much time
Lost inside my mind.
Over time things have dried.
Something's have even died
And now I'm left with what I've become
Over time.
All I can think of
Was that a mind
Is a terrible things to waste.
