Sitting here in a room with with people suffering a loss
The silence over the room is frightening
It's reality, reminding us that we are not immortal
We can not live forever
death awaits us
Every heart suffers for the loss of something
Something so precious
Life
One that wasn't given long enough it seems
I feel an emptiness inside
The whole room mourns, they need to
All eyes are closed, bloodshot, or emotionless
Truly they can not understand
They know the meaning
But they don't understand the question
Why?
I could continue but words are wrong in this moment
No respect comes from even the most beautiful and poetic words
At this moment, the silence says it all.
My senior year of high school a students died in a car crash. I didn't know him but I had a class with a lot of his friends.
