surrounded by so many faces
yet no one sees me, not one
a shadow in an open classroom
head down, legs crossed, hands in lap
well mannered to those that see
rude to those that get too close
pushing others away, a shadow in the classroom
with her head down she walks the halls
failing her classes, crying out for help
no one hears, no one sees, a shadow
those that hear, do nothing, ignored
those that see, do nothing, ignored
nothing to do, but to drown in thought
an endless abyss to the drowned
no one sees, none to pull her up and out
masochism at it's best...
scars that are left, those that are unseen
but in the end, everyone sees...
out of your shell, for but a moment
judged, hurt, broken, wanting back in
once a shadow, forever more, not open
scars were seen, a broken smile
head down, legs crossed, arms up
for all to see, palms up
lines upon lines along her veins
a broken smile on her face
she's alright, she's okay, she's alive
a shadow in the classroom
a hero in my eye, she survived
