You are the sores in my lungs
When intention starves reason
And I can't inhale you any deeper
That violent blood rush within thick-walled vessels
Static between skin and soul and the contusions that fill the void
Eyelids shudder
Closed off...
But I breathed you in
It's not that I bare any hate because I still crave the flame
I'm just afraid you'll burn away
I know these things
They never seem to stay
