Sunday Afternoon
At first there is silence.
Absolutely nothing.
Glass shatters and now
The place is filled with
Sound.
Children shouting
Dogs barking.
The soft patter of
Feet fades from
Background sound.
Again a silence drapes.
You can practically hear
The darkness.
Now a misfit lies
Amidst the carpet.
Dust and dirt surround the
Area like a crater.
The dark mud clashes
With the soft white
fabric.
Paws and a wet nose
Carry to the smaller door
And exit.
Freshly turned earth and
Grass cover up
Evidence.
All is almost well again.
