At first there is silence.

Absolutely nothing.

Glass shatters and now
The place is filled with
Sound.
Children shouting
Dogs barking.
The soft patter of
Feet fades from
Background sound.

Again a silence drapes.

You can practically hear
The darkness.
Now a misfit lies
Amidst the carpet.

Dust and dirt surround the
Area like a crater.
The dark mud clashes
With the soft white
fabric.

Paws and a wet nose
Carry to the smaller door
And exit.
Freshly turned earth and
Grass cover up
Evidence.

All is almost well again.
