Letters

I wrote about you leaving me(.) alone. The other day I wanted to say that “I love you” but I forgot halfway through if I did or not. When I think about what we really are humans, two white humans man and woman brown and yellow hazel and sapphire how are we so different? We both are creatures made of paper bound together with ropes of letters against a rock awaiting the whale. But if you were the same as me, you'd have scars in the same places as me along your neck, your left leg your heart. You would remember the trees along the train tracks the overpass how the wind and the gravel and the dark wrapped around you and you forgot to let go of the gate love is a four letter word that fits into a five letter (heart) one heart is a five letter word that fits into a three letter (you) one you is a three letter word that fits into a two letter (me) one “I love -”
