Between brilliant explosions of brimstone
and reflective waters, searching, I climb
the ladder of the blue earth. Searching,
I call your name as my fatigued body
sinks into the darkness. Emptiness fills me
up from the inside, reaching further and further
until all that remains is a husk, beaten by the wind
and the sun, unrelenting in it’s love for us.
