Concrete Burns
concrete burns
on sundry days
twisting and turns
in fixated ways
hard rock rivers
etch the landscape
in human endeavors
and tenuous escape
from eddied towns
along lorn asphalt flows
dreams born to drown
in hope too shallow
for front porch desires
while mothers speak of yearning
and fathers of youthful fires
life is of concrete burning
dreams and desires
