To Be With You.
I see you every
now and then
and it hits me
in the gut
how two lovers
aren't supposed to
cross paths again,
watch it fade to dust
I know that we
are strangers now
but it wasn't
always so
you used to smile
when I arrived
and frown as
I would go
but now your smile
is pleasant,
demeanor,
too polite
I know that you
have lost all
love,
but, oh, to be
with you tonight.
