There was a girl who lived with her mum
She loved picking flowers, beautiful ones
She picked one, beautiful, purple narcissus
This was for her mum, this one she couldn't miss
And her life changed forever
She was pulled under ground
To the prison of her uncle
Like a dogs pound
She was commanded to stay for all eternity
Her father came to the rescue and made a deal
She came home for six months every six months
And why?
The answer is confusing
“One month per pomegranate seed eaten”
Stated the god of the dead
She stayed in the prison wishing to go home
After six months she went back to Rome
When she came back her mother was overjoyed
The flowers blossomed
The trees bloomed
At the maiden’s arrival
No darkness loomed
But when she went back
To the prison underground
Plant life withered
And from her mother
Not a sound
That’s how the seasons came all around
And to the world it is bound
Does this remind you of anything?
