Cannonball
Raw wood creaking
beneath leaden feet
For today is the day
I know who I'm to meet
Pacing up steps
of solid deja vu
My heavy head bobbing
it's way back to you
You still linger here
while I'm trying to sleep
and inside my slumbers
you stoically creep
You're triggered so fast,
yet reach me so slow
Your image is the
only weapon I know
Reeling from the impact;
fragile bones amiss
Forever lying shredded
in your destructive bliss
