My plan was your fulfillment
Even saw you when I dreamed
Every waking moment
Thought of you, it seemed
Would strive to make you happy
To know you're not alone
And tell you that I loved you
When I called you on the phone
I knew you'd be the woman
To whom I would pledge my life
We would be together
Would cherish you, my wife

I would tell my plan to anyone
That hadn't heard it all before
One thing I hadn't planned on
That you didn't love me anymore

My plan was to adore you
To explore you, to amore you
My vow, a promise to protect you
To respect you, not reject you
An inner peace, so sure of my devotion
That would allow a tide of desire and emotion
To completely overwhelm you

No real need for ardent passion nightly
To gently kiss behind an ear
Or down your back
To touch you lightly
Might be all the proof
Of love that you require
And just as often
Our two forms
Entwined
In rapt desire

My plan, a life together
More passionate than our lives before
One thing I hadn't planned on
That you didn't love me anymore

My plan, to make your heart sing
I'd get to see it in your smile
Our bond revealed in your eyes
Radiant all the while
THEN DRAMA!
I'd find your wedding ring!
Hanging from a star!
All the love it represented
Shining from afar
A retrieval from the heavens
I would offer it up to you
In all, a solemn promise
Always, to be true

And I would tell my plan to anyone
That hadn't heard it all before
One thing I hadn't planned on
That you didn't love me anymore
