Flashing Lights

When this party is all over

There is but one thing I wonder

Will I remember these flashing lights?

The nights full of ecstasy

Oh unbridled jubilance!

Of precious youthful innocence

Will these still be real to me?

These nights are like photographs

Affixed in my mind

The snapshots unravel

As I remember the times

Like flashing lights they pass

And the rest fades away

No recollection of words

Just the smiles on each face

When this party’s all over

They’re all I’ll have left

Just the flashing of lights

Through my mind at my death

But the scenes are intense,

Memories bring me to life!

Such pure exhilaration

Freed from worry or strife

Not a care in the world

‘Cause the future was bright

Oh to return to those days!

I would gladly take flight

But time is so cruel

And the end is in sight

What was one hell of a party

Now’s just all flashing lights
