I was brought up taught,
that life always changes.
But who would have thought,
of just how much it rearranges.

A broken heart,
and a shattered dream.

A misled start,
that went unseen.

You stole my breath,
something never to happen before.

You might as well have caused my death,
by tossing me aside and stepping out the door.

What changed inside?
What fueled your lust?
All the tears I cried,
my hopes became simple dust.

I'm left alone,
unsure of what to do.
I sit here at home,
only able to think of you.

Maybe one day you'll care,
a wish I'm not sure I can chase.
A heart isn't something you share,
and even though you left the pain always stays.
