A milky white trail crossing the sky

A crackle from wet wood Tossed carelessly into a blazing bonfire Making sparks and ash explode From this contained pit Stuttering and spewing Like fireflies during summer's night Is there a hidden desire Emanating from these glowing flames Ascending as a smoke toward swollen rain clouds But dissipating into nothingness Before it began to pour.
