You were once mine,
I thought of no other at the time.
Your smile made my heart rev like an engine,
Now I would be lucky just to see it again.
With you by my side, life was at a stand still.
We were a runaway car with no one at the wheel.
The light flashed green and we drove our separate ways.
Now all I do is sit back and count the days
That you race across my mind
Leaving all your ***** tracks behind.
Each and every memory stain,
That occupies my brain.
Your lips, your eyes, they haunt my dreams,
At least that’s what it seems.

The road that leads to nowhere
Must always begin somewhere
If I could get one last chance, I'd take it
Whether or not I would make it.
You were my headlights in the dark.
