Forever Apart

He gave to me every color

plain and mixed

from deep black to bright white

more than I ever wished

my best friend, my beloved

all that I ever coveted

he in the mountains, me by the sea

forever apart

our destiny

yet tears streaming down my cheeks

across my smiling lips

a peculiar wind blows my hair

he's here with me, I know he is
