May 2014
I know that you were caught in the freezing blast--
The fallout of my heart icing over--
And a chilling spear lanced deep into your soul
That heart you had so willingly entwined with mine

I know that you could not remain
In the majestic glacial palace I had created
Each surface, a frozen mirror reflecting
Nothing but my fear, my agony, my struggle

I know that you have probably found summer again--
Sunshine and light, laughter and song
I see, blossoming from that once-wounded heart
New growth, fresh spirit, vibrant life

But it's so cold in here, and dark
There is no heat without the warmth of your smile
No light without the sparkle of your eyes
And I sit in solitude--frozen, numb, lifeless

Save me from this ice-bound hell of a prison.
