"Will you marry me?"
"Yes."
"Right now?"
"Yes."
"Why me? There are
six million other people to choose from.
Why me?"

Out of all the people in the world,
there is not a single one like you.
You are pieces of me that I didn't know existed.
You are the pauses for breath in between my laughs,
most of which you are the cause of.
You are the smell of the ocean when the wind blows,
even though you've never been.
You are sometimes the last string holding me together,
and more often the one who sews them all
back into place.
You are the beginning and end to all of my stories.
You are every word in my dictionary,
even the ones that don't make sense.
Especially the ones that don't make sense.
You are my favorite synonym for the word "home".

"Why me?"
Why anybody else?
