To My Mother
Heavy are the shoulders that bear the mantle of motherhood.
Often they wonder if what they do is enough to be good.
Through affection and knowledge, this I can say.
You shaped my views in a nurturing way.
Thought we may not have had a lot.
You showed love in every word and thought.
You cared enough to lend a hand.
Even far away, you helped me stand.
You gave me courage, and lifted me up.
Even while thirsty, you filled my cup.
You loved me enough to let me go.
Throughout my travels wherever I go.
I will always adore you, though I may not say.
You brighten my world, by night and day.
I love you.
Happy Mother's Day.
