I've decided to take this empty space, and fill it with words of love,
So hear now, my sweet angel, and listen for it’s you that I speak of.
I wish you well, in your many years of life,
I hope you’ll find the man, who’ll call you his wife.
Take these words, and take it to heart,
Then you've found your love, may nothing ever tear you apart,
Through struggles, and trials, through much pain and fallen tears,
Know the love of friendship, the love from your peers.
They stand by you, without judgment nor blame,
Know that you are still as amazing when you leave them, and just as amazing as you came.
They’ll help you, and guide you, shape the person you are today,
Know that the love of a friend, is always there to stay.
Look upon this letter, and what ever more that you may need me to send,
to reassure, my dear, that love will find you in the end.
Whether your knight comes soon, in shining armor, gleaming and all,
or perhaps later, when returned from the call,
I pray that he’ll look after you, and love you for what you are,
because you’ll be his angel, his love, his shining star.
So here I end this poem for you,
That you’ll find the man that’s worth his salt,
and will eventually earn your earnest,
“I do.”
