Brilliance

I want to burst through your door

and show you that I can give you more.

I’m done with this suffocating cocoon,

this protective mask I’m wearing to save face

or just in case you break my heart.

I’m ready to spread these wings

and in shades of brilliance fly high into the sky

and take you by surprise.

You leave me feeling electric

and I can’t help, but fix on those eyes,

at a single glance a gorgeous green,

soon adjusted into a bright blue -

**** now there is nothing I can do.
