Being friends with you,
has it's ups and downs.

But the constant
personal comparisons,
I put myself through,
are starting to drag me down.

Here they come.
Boys.
Walking towards us.
I wonder if they see me, too.

I'm tired of being
the pretty girl's best friend.
Tired of boys looking past me,
like I'm her dog or something.

On the inside, it's different.
I wish they'd look into me,
instead of past me.

I'm next to her.
I'm here, too.

Regards - the pretty girl's best friend.
