They say eyes
are windows to the soul.
I see them as weapons,
I see them as weaknesses.
I see them as
caverns, so deep and dark you get
lost along the way.
I see them as mazes,
you can't even tell which way
is up or down anymore.
I think that when I look at people,
they see inside of me,
they see how scared I am,
how terrified I am,
and how frail my frame must be.
It's not eye contact,
but I contact.
For they see inside of me.

So if I don't look at you,
don't be offended,
I just don't want you to get
lost.
