you tame me with those azure eyes
your voice cuddles my hurting heart
yet that distant stare is not for me
am I absent from your mind
does my old age erode the memories
of you and I in our youth
for time is constant, relentless ticks
I have been soften, my sturdy roots
weaken, the insects of life slowly feast
just toss me in the compost pile
let the monarch pick up my ashes
deposit me onto a ****** flower
its petals open to the warm sun
and the circle will be complete
