Walking side by side
holding what I thought a mutual respect
I have nothing against you
and you've never given me reason to

You would always give me a bump when I needed you
or kept clear out of my way

Never have I felt to doubt you
or put you in a bad light
While you kept your distance
I was always grateful you kept me in your sight

Hollow but sweet Misfortune
I'm afraid I too have arrived at your boat
And while I walk with his lies
my dear Friendship, slips a knife in Love's throat
