Wails of sorrow fill the air,
darkness devours courage that was there.
Your painted face begins to run,
and you are left quite undone.
In the raw for all to see,
plain as day is misery.
As you weep and cry,
you ask for one last goodbye.
Perhaps a hug, maybe a kiss,
from the loved one that you miss.
The heart has broken,
from those lost words spoken.
Gone away from here,
still held dear.
Loved ever more,
tears begin to pour.
Alone in the night,
Left to the fright.
