Never Want To Let Go

by oetting

Whenever you meet someone special You never want to let go. You hang on for dear life Hoping! Praying! That you won’t fall on your face. But when you do, Everything in life becomes worthless. Food becomes tasteless, Your thirst is never quenched, And you drown your sorrow with liquor. Hiding behind your smile you wondering If what you did was too much Or too few. With each step you take You think of the one you lost. But no matter how strong you are This feeling will beat you to Your knees. However the true test is When you try to break this feeling. Because it holds on for dear life. Hoping! Praying! That you will fall on your face.
