The army of darkness
The night's minions
Marching above me
Their combat boots creating
Silent thunder

They come in droves
Covering my ceiling
With shadows of guilt
Shadows of unknown

They know everything I've done
They hide, waiting, watching
For something to report
To the darkest depths
Of my mind
They do the same to you
And the rest of mankind
They feed off our secrets
The dark ones fight for your mind
To take over, to claim

Don't get enthralled in their games
Puppets of darkness
They will hold you hostage
To your own psyche
Your cranial cage
Will be your home

Soon enough
The shadows will pass
The thunder will stop
The guilt will never subside

But,
A new day will dawn
